I may have mentioned a time or two that I LOVE apple fritters. I honestly find it hard to pass one up. They stop me in my tracks at the grocery store, or I hear them calling my name from the Dunkin’ Donuts drive thru. I’ve often thought that my heart has a little glaze on it, much like the apple fritter itself. And if they’re warmed up…just don’t bother me. I need a moment to myself.
I’ve never tried making them at home because I thought it would probably be too complicated. I mean, why make them if you can just buy them, right? Imagine my delight when I proved myself wrong. I found an easy recipe and made it even easier when I tried using my Adams Apple Pie Jam. This cuts out the whole “peeling, coring, dicing, and mixing with lemon juice” step. And the good thing about apple fritters is they don’t have to be pretty, so you don’t have to feel like you’ve failed if they’re ugly.
Wanna give it a try? If you don’t have a jar of Adams Apple Pie Jam, you’ll need about 2-3 Granny Smith apples and some lemon juice. But why do all that work when you can just open a jar? Go get some, or order here.
